Your local-led London food tour begins here, soaking up the sights, sounds and scents of its character-filled shops and stalls. Navigating this market (one of the largest and oldest in the city) can be a little overwhelming for visitors, but with your local guide on hand you’ll get to know the best of the best.
First, you’ll be introduced to an English breakfast classic; the bacon and egg bap. Our second stop brings you to what is possibly Britain's most popular dish as we try award-winning fish and chips.
Next up, you’ll sample the best traditional sausage roll in town.
With your guide on-hand, you’ll discover the history of the market and surrounding area, including Sir Francis Drake's Golden Hind, the Shard, and Southwark Cathedral.
With so much to see (and taste!), it would be a shame to leave without a little solo exploration, so your guide will give you 10-20 minutes to look around, allowing you a chance to buy gifts or sample some of the many delicious free tasters.
Back with your guide and small group, your tour continues with a visit to a historic pub, where you'll try a selection of British cheeses, served with fruit, crackers, and chutney, all washed down with some quintessential English cider.
Moving on to the River Thames, you'll see the world-famous London and Tower Bridges, the Battleship HMS Belfast, and the iconic London skyline.
Finally, we’ll sit down for a classic English dessert, served with a pot of refreshing breakfast tea. Oh, and don’t forget that on all Secret Food Tours there's a surprise, delicious Secret Dish as well!
